When I started the FB group for overwhelmed teachers, I only expected a few to join. I now have 80 members! The need for self-care now is so essential. And as Thich Nhat Hanh says:
"You can't calm the storm . . . so stop trying.
What you can do is calm yourself. The storm will pass."
I have found the personal training that I did, virtually of course, in August to be so fulfilling. It is so wonderful to really get to know my students and to be able to create content specifically for them. Because of the great need out there right now, I'm extending my 1/2 price offer for private instruction until the end of September. Here is what Sarah had to say of our recent work together:
"Julie's sessions blended mind, body, and spirit practices that provided the holistic help I needed. Before each session, Julie listened carefully to what I was experiencing and reflected my physical and mental areas of challenge into the design of her session. I truly felt seen and heard. She sought frequent feedback about how the sessions were landing, which only empowered me to pay closer attention to what worked well for my mind, body, and spirit. I now feel like I have moves, sequences, and poses I can incorporate into my daily schedule, depending on what I need. I highly recommend Julie's sessions to anyone who looks to yoga for overall healing and joy!"
Other notes for this month:
I'm offering free progressive vinyasa classes on Mondays for Will Bike 4 Food participants. This event is a fundraiser for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. Here is the link to sign up:
Here is more about the event:
About Will Bike 4 Food Will Bike 4 Food is a cycling event to raise funds for The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts and awareness about food insecurity in our region. Now in its 10th year, this event has brought thousands of dedicated community members and businesses together to pedal towards a hunger-free future.
This year's event is more accessible than ever. Set a goal that is challenging for you, then ride wherever and however you want! We help you train to reach your goal with virtual fitness classes and workshops. You help us by asking your friends, family, and co-workers to contribute to your personalized fundraising page. Together, we can support our neighbors facing hunger during this time of increased need.
Starting in October, I will be offering online training for self-care through yoga, pranayama, mindfulness and mindful eating. This will be a 90 day training for those who are looking for a step-by-step program with accountability and personal attention.
Please look for more info about that in a week or so! I will post on FB and IG.
All the best to you -- take good care of yourselves!
Julie
